Bottle Tag

by Kris Hankins

I often take a bottle of wine to someone as a thank you gift or hostess gift. I feel like something is missing when I present it to them, so I came up with these hanging bottle tags. They can be customized for birthdays, events/occasions, and for the seasons.

Bottle Tag

Materials

  • Paper and Cardstock
    • Tim Holtz Paper Stash - Shabby Vintage Paper Pad     ( ADV-THPad-92824   $14.99)
    • American Cardstock, Denim Blue     ( AMC-CSP-71073   $0.50)
    • Standard White Cardstock Scrap
  • Stamps
    • Thank You Stamp of Choice, such as Stampedous Cling Mount Stamp,Thank You     ( STM-CRD-004   $4.29)
    • Flourish Stamp of Choice, such as Flourishes v2 by Rhonna Farrer     ( AL-RS-2514   $18.00)
    • Script Stamp of Choice, such as Tim Holtz Stamp Set, Royal Script     ( ST-CMS016   $19.95)
  • Inks and Embossing Powders
  • Embellishments
  • Tools
  • Adhesives

Instructions

  • Cut a 3” x 8” piece of double-sided cardstock.
I used a “flourish” print from Tim Holtz’s Shabby Vintage paper pad.
(I love these new 36 sheet pads. They have such an assortment of fun papers).

  • From the back, score the paper at 2 ½” from one end using your ScorIt.

  • Round the corners of the tag using Zutters Round-It-All.
Punch a 1 ½” hole centered in the top portion of tag. (After throwing away many cheaper corner rounders, I am so pleased with this rounder!
It is sturdy and cuts through thick media like chipboard and thin metals… not just paper).

  • Stamp the front corner of the tag with a “text” stamp using Adirondack denim ink.

  • Over stamp the entire front of the tag with a “flourish” stamp using Brilliance Pearlescent Platinum Planet ink.
This will leave a subtle, shimmering stamped image over the entire front of the tag.

  • Cut a 2 ½” x 2 ½” square from standard white cardstock.
Stamp “thank you” using Adirondack denim ink.
Also over stamp this piece with the flourish stamp and Brilliance Pearlescent Platinum Planet ink.

  • Cut a 3/4” x 5” strip of contrasting Tim Holtz Shabby Vintage paper.

  • Gather up some clear “Dew Drops”.
I found the easiest way to apply dew drops is to attach them directly to mini-glue dots while they are still on the roll/backing paper.

  • To finish, glue contrasting strip of paper onto bottle tag.
Adhere the sentiment to a layer of denim cardstock and glue onto face of bottle tag.
Lastly, add the clear dew drops evenly down the strip of accent paper.

Now, take a “dressed up” bottle of wine to your next hostess.
