Instructions

  • Fold a 4-1/4” x 11” piece of Bazzill “Sea” cardstock in half to create a card base.
Adhere a 4” x 5-1/4” piece of Bazzill “Hershey” cardstock to the front side of your card.
Adhere a 3-3/4” x 5” piece of “Light the Way” designer paper from Webster’s Pages Lullaby Lane/Life's Portrait collection, floral side up, over the “Hershey” panel.

Die-cut through 3 layers of “Hershey” cardstock at one time using the Caged Bird die to create three birdcages.

  • Die-cut through 3 layers of “Hershey” cardstock at one time using the Caged Bird die to create three birdcages.

  • Glue one of the birdcages to the center of your card base.
Use dimensional foam pieces to layer the second die-cut birdcage on top.
Repeat using the third die-cut birdcage to make the cage three layers high.

  • Die-cut through 2 layers of left over “Light the Way” designer paper pieces and 1 layer of a “Dandelion” cardstock at one time to create three birds.

The bird will be in three parts: The wing will be from the floral side of the designer paper, the birds’ body will be from the reverse side of the floral print, and the legs and branch will be from the “Dandelion” cardstock.

  • Cut the legs off the bird body. Cut the bird body off the “Dandelion” cardstock (leave about 1/4” of the body above the legs).

  • Sponge the edges of the three die-cut bird pieces with Fluid Chalk ink in Dark Brown.
Glue the floral body over the yellow die-cut bird so only the legs and branch are seen in yellow.
Adhere the bird’s wing using dimensional foam to the bird’s body.

  • Carefully “weave” the assembled bird between the bars of the birdcage, leaving some of the bird sticking outside the bars and adhere – the bird will pretty much stay in place without glue!

  • Decorate the cage and card base using peel-off stickers.
Add a peel-off chain to the top of the bird cage and drape it downwards towards the main part of the cage.

  • Decorate the peel-offs with pearl embellishments.
