Young boy’s cupcake card

I have two young sons and as they get older I fin it harder and harder to make suitable cards for their friends’ birthdays.
I saw these cupcake stamps and thought that they were great as they are not over-girly, and could work well for boys too.
Well, all the boys I know love cakes just as much as the girls!



I also enjoyed incorporating ribbon into a boys card, by tying a knot rather than a bow stops it being girly.



I love making little cards, and I find by making my own simple envelopes I am not limited to standard sizes.


Materials

• Paper and Cardstock
• Plain white cardstock (4”x4”) card blank.
• 7 Gypsies, Calais, 6"x6" paper pad     (
 7G-Pad-19231   $7.95)
• thin white card for the envelope
• scrap white card for number
• Stamps
• Stampendous Clear Stamps, Cupcake Numbers     (
 STM-SSC-178   $14.99)
• Inks and Embossing Powders
• Ranger archival black ink     ( RAN-ARCP-jet   $5.49)


• Embellishments
• 1/2” organdy ribbon, Seafoam swirl     ( CR-ORGSW-SF   $0.75/yard)
• Tools
• acrylic block
• Tombow Brush Marker pens in colors of your choice     ( TOM-(color number)   $2.59/each)
• Adhesives
• 3d foam squar    ( BC-foam-lgsq   $2.99)
• Glue of choice



Instructions

• Stamp the cupcake once onto stripy paper and once onto spotty paper. cut out as shown.
  


• Stamp the number onto white card, colour and cut out,
  


• Tie the ribbon into a knot and stick the loose ends down as shown.
  


• Mount the topping and number on 3d foam
  


• Cut a strip of paper and stamp happy birthday onto it.
  


• Attach to card along with cupcake. 

  


• To make the envelope lay the card onto a piece of thin card and fold as shown,
  


• Cut as shown,
  


• Seal the envelope with another number stamped onto white card and coloured.
