Instructions

  • Trim the bags along the opening side so that they measure 11 inches in length.

  • Adhere the side flaps together to disable the bags ability to open up fully.

  • Cut all of the white cardstock to the following dimensions –

    • Use this guide with 6 pieces of card

    • Use this guide with 4 pieces of card

    • Use this guide with 2 pieces of card

    • You should then have two pieces of card measuring 12 inches by 7 inches for the cover,
six pieces of card measuring 12 inches by 5 inches for the journaling section and
twenty four pieces of card measuring 5 1/2 inches by 6 1/2 inches to cover each of the pages of your album.

  • Fold each of the paper bags in half and adhere one of the white cardstock pages to each of the four panels for each of the bags.

  • Open out each bag and lay flat on a non porous surface and spray with Peach Delight Glimmer Mist.
Leave to dry then re-spray with Jack Frost Glimmer mist.
Turnover and repeat on the other side of each bag when completely dry.

  • Use the circle punch to punch out a semi-circle from the centre of opening (see image for further clarification).
Ink all the edges of the pages.

  • Sew the 6 bags together along the fold using a binding stitch.
(I prefer to punch four centred holes along the fold and then run my stitches through these to bind the pages together).

  • Ensure your album is turned so that the un-punched side is facing up.
    This is the first page.
Your album pages should be organised as follows:
    • Page 1 – Month summary
    • Page 2 – January Photo
    • Page 3 – January title
    • Page 4 – February title
    • Page 5 – February Photo
    • Page 6 – March Photo
    • Page 7 – March title
    • Page 8 – April Title
    • Page 9 – April Photo
    • Page 10 – May Photo
    • Page 11 – May title
    • Page 12 – June title
    • Page 13 – June Photo
    • Page 14 – July Photo
    • Page 15 – July title
    • Page 16 – August title
    • Page 17 – August Photo
    • Page 18 – September Photo
    • Page 19 – September title
    • Page 20 – October title
    • Page 21 – October Photo
    • Page 22 – November Photo
    • Page 23 – November title
    • Page 24 – December title

    • The second December page will be created on the inside of the back cover when it is attached.
I decorated my album by outlining everything with the black pen, adding a large Month title and Patterned paper strips above and below the month.
I kept everything the same to simplify the creation of this book and to unify all of the pages.

  • Lay out each of the 5 inch by 12 inch pieces of white card.
    Score and fold in half.
Cut six 3inch lengths of ribbon and adhere to one side as shown in the photo.

Glue both halves together to form a double thickness card, repeat with the remaining 5 pieces.

  • On the front of one of these journaling cards (the front has a ribbon hanging from the right side) write January along the bottom right corner and doodle a border around the remaining edges of the card as shown in the photo.

Repeat on the back, writing February.
Continue in this way, so that the six cards have all twelve months written on them.
Each with go in one of the pockets of the album.

  • Adhere the two 7 inch by 12 inch card pieces together to form the cover of the book.
Score 5 3/4 inches from each side to create a ½ inch spine in the centre of the cover and fold along these lines.
From the patterned paper cut a strip that measures 7 inches by 12 inches.
Cut out a section as shown in the photo and adhere to the front of the cover.

I then prefer to sew around my edges with a sewing machine to strengthen the cover.
Adhere this spine to the binding edge of the album.

  • Add the title to the front of the album and decorate with Prima flowers and leaves.
(To create the flowers I used, I layered three pieces together from the centres)

  • Use the Glitter letters to put the initial in place on each page, for that particular month.
Doodle the remaining letters of the Months title or alternatively, print them in a small type font and punch them out with a small square punch.
