Pretty in Pink (Kathy Berger)

Pretty in Pink
by Kathy Berger

I get together with some friends who love to make cards as often as I can. Once a month there is a meeting hosted by one of the gals over on the Peninsula, and I travel from the East Bay to join them as often as my bum leg permits. We have a pot luck and visit, and make shoe-box projects. This was my shoe-box card for this month.

Everything that was die-cut on it was done with Frantic Stamper Precision Dies (see below for the list of dies used) EXCEPT for the large pink layer; that used a Spellbinders die. The embossing folder was an Anna Griffin folder. Patterned paper is by Authentique; solid colors are Bazzill. Pearls were by Hero Arts. Ribbon is from Offray. The ink used to color the flowers and butterfly, which were cut from white card stock, are Momento Desert Sand and Angel Pink inks.

  3. This card is beautiful. Great job! I am on auto delivery for Anna Griffin's embossing folders & dies, but I don't recognize the one you used on this card. It looks like it cut out the center window and put a border around the center window. It also looks like it die cut the edges of the card, as well. At any rate, I sure would appreciate if you'd supply the name of what you used, if at all possible. I'd like to create similar cards. Thanks!

    1. Kaye,

The pink layer was die cut first and then embossed with the folder, whose name I don't know. I used a Spellbinders die to cut the edges of the piece and Frantic Stamper's Coved Labels for the center. I also layered-up the center with a frame I cut using the Coved Labels.

    2. The center of the card was created by cutting the floral paper with the larger Coved label. I cut the sand paper with the Daisy Circles Panel die first, and then with the larger Coved Label die. I layered that over the floral paper, and then I cut a frame out of the pink card-stock using two Coved Label dies and layered it on top.

The piece that was cut with the Spellbinders die was then run through the embossing folder and layered onto my card. I then added the label piece to the center. The corners of the larger pink layer were enhanced with pieces cut from one piece cut with the Frantic Stamper Square Scroll die.

      HTH!
