Sweet Rosette (Ann Greenspan)

Sweet Rosette
by Ann Greenspan

I have several female relatives with birthdays coming up soon and very few cards that I could use for these occasions, so I decided it was time to make some spring looking birthday cards.  I also haven't made a rosette in a long time; I love rosettes so much and how they look on a card or hanging on a wall.

The rosette was made using the Frantic Stamper Scalloped Border Trio as the fancy edge.  I simply cut the scalloped border with all the holes in it on a strip of paper that was 2" x 10" long.  I had to cut the border twice in order to have it cover the entire 10" of paper but that was easy enough to do.  Just line up the first scallop on the die with the last scallop that was cut so that it fits right into the cut.

Once the edge of the strip was completely die cut, I placed it on my scoring board and scored every 1/4".

Then I assembled the rosette, fan folding the score lines every other way and adhering it together at the ends.

To top the rosette, I simply punched out a 1.5" pinking circle with white paper then a 1.25" scallop on the mint paper.  I layered on a flower made using the Frantic Stamper Petite Layering Posies and put some of the Frantic Stamper Petite Leaves on for extra detail.

The final step was to die cut the Frantic Stamper Sweet die and adhere it using a glue pen.
