It's almost Easter, and I'd like to share a few card samples made with one of our most popular dies ever. Yes, this is an "oldie but goodie".This darling die isn't just for Easter cards! Oh no! It also makes lovely cards for baby announcements, birthday, and more.

<br> <br>
I enjoyed making the slider cards so much that I just had to give one last thing a try. I wanted to make a slimline slider, and wanted to use only things in the Simple Slider Maker die set to make the card; it turns out it was simple to do! Everything in the die set works just fine without modification except the pull tab, which is too short for the slimline format. I found a really simple solution, though! I simply cut two strips of card stock 8 1/2" long and 3/4" wide, and then used the die for cutting the thumb cutout to round the end of each. Once I had my new pull tab pieces, assembly of the slider card was exactly like the assembly of my other basic simple sliders!
I hope you like today's card. Even though I designed this die set, I didn't realize how versatile it would be! And it is so much fun!

Simple Slider Maker </div> by Kathy Berger
<br> <br>
Frantic Stamper has just released a versatile die set for making slider mechanisms and adding movement to your card. I have made two basic, two intermediate, and three advanced types of sliders using this set. I have also made three videos to show you how this set can be used to make the types of sliders in the cards I have created.
<br> <br>
<hr>
Beginner Sliders
<br> <br>
First is a simple vertical slider. This slider is perfect for any card in which you want an object to move a fairly long distance up and down on a portrait-orientation card, but it can also be used to move an onject a shorter distance. That is how versatile this die set is! you are in charge of where to place your slider, and how long you make it! For the rocket card I chose to combine the smallest and the medium length slot dies to make an extra-long slot. All I had to do was use my tiny scissors to remove the tiny gap between them.
<br> <br>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPfmUAoabmojh2KHZ9JG9jmvYoysv-ztZpmLVwfBXCkgzNI9wJk9pZvZGz1peIp2OPOXQFciXw16P4DoEHD3mVijMtPHtT8lmt_i85Jl2m7cxMxIeoz4zVpSX0urEuvY2T-tFx/s1600/IMG_5593-773925.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPfmUAoabmojh2KHZ9JG9jmvYoysv-ztZpmLVwfBXCkgzNI9wJk9pZvZGz1peIp2OPOXQFciXw16P4DoEHD3mVijMtPHtT8lmt_i85Jl2m7cxMxIeoz4zVpSX0urEuvY2T-tFx/s1600/IMG_5593-773925.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_6877720005426581762" style="width: 280px; height: auto;"></a>
<br> <br>
For this horizontal slider card I chose to put my slot closer to the top edge of the card. As long as you leave enough room to apply some foam tape on the edges (2 layers) of the card and a bit more than a half-inch for the mechanism, you can put the slot pretty much anywhere on your card!

<br> <br>
Here is a video of how to use the die set to make these basic kinds of sliders.
<br> <br>
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0CNmiov79HI" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" id="id_56a3_b9bc_e5ca_3b82"></iframe>
<br> <br>
<hr>
Intermediate Sliders
<br> <br>
The first Intermediate slider doubles up on the mechanisms to have two sliders on a single pull tab. This kind of slider can work in either orientation, but in portrait orientation you need to be more careful about the spacing between the slots. They must be a little more than one and three-quarters inches apart.
the slots have to be parallel, and they must be the same length, but they dont have to be aligned top and bottom. Experiment!
<br> <br>

<br> <br>
The second intermediate slider is a push/pull slider. The object in this slider will move in the opposite direction as the pull tab. This slider introduces another mechanism, but it is still made with this die set. A little bit of plastic bag looped through the new mechanism is what does the magic of reversing direction. a perfect plastic to use is the very slippery plastic packaging that Frantic Stamper stamps and dies ship in. Thin single-use shopping bags also work well (and we all love the environmental bonus of reusing these instead of throwing them out!)

<br> <br>
Again, I have created a video to help you to learn how to make these slightly more complex sliders.
<br> <br>
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fAvFpB_wpok" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" id="id_4558_997_2e9b_e219"></iframe>

Advanced Sliders
<br> <br>
Now we are getting into the kind of sliders that I love to figure out and make work! These sliders combine two of the regular mechanisms with a push/pull mechanism to make two objects interact with each other.
<br> <br>
First up is the come together slider. With this combination, two objects start at the outer edges of the card, but move to meet in the middle of the card when the tab is pulled. (This sample card was so much fun to make. as I was putting it together I was envisioning a get-together with a photographer telling people to scrunch together and to say cheese. I smiled the whole time I spent on it!)
<br> <br>

<br> <br>
Next we have the move apart slider. Two objects start out together on the outer edges of the card, but then move apart, toward the outer edges.
<br> <br>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQtYFoAQKVHaOsZoNzJ4IyiYMJlHcfvYHXUA9ccqyZ4F0zz6jLokV1J8x6dknY48mPu7CIm6s9_jzLkw5XiVkxgs30ziYAYNOFBsjWFX7RKfbkZ3eAhiYvqcSserLY_l_e8wD5/s1600/IMG_0926-714954.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQtYFoAQKVHaOsZoNzJ4IyiYMJlHcfvYHXUA9ccqyZ4F0zz6jLokV1J8x6dknY48mPu7CIm6s9_jzLkw5XiVkxgs30ziYAYNOFBsjWFX7RKfbkZ3eAhiYvqcSserLY_l_e8wD5/s1600/IMG_0926-714954.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_6877728773811551330" style="width: 280px; height: auto;"></a>

<br> <br>
And lastly I have a seesaw slider. On this slider one object will go up when the other object goes down, just like on a seesaw. There are other ways to accomplish this movement, but I think this is the least complicated way, and it is a bonus that you dont need anything but this one die set to make it, or any of the other sliders I have shared.

Here is a video that will show you how to put these advanced mechanism together to make more complex movement.
<br> <br>
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HcQP4FyqYFs" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" id="id_4f66_c4e_4120_8a6"></iframe>
<br> <br>
I hope you have enjoyed seeing how this one die set is able to make so many different tyoes of sliders, from the most simple to more advanced. We would all love to see what new ways you discover to use it!

<br> <br>
These stacked banner cards are pretty quick and easy to make; with just a simple background, the stacked banners, and a flower or two they can be made in mere minutes!
<br> <br>
Here is a little video to share how I made the banners that I used in these three cards.

<br> <br>
Hello! Today I would like to share a very simple little slider card featuring the Frantic Stamper Cute Hippo die set. The little hippo is hiding in his little pond until you pull the tab, and then he rises to show the little gift box he has for your birthday, and his little birdie friend appears, too!
<br> <br>
The hippo, pond, and bird are all from the Cute Hippo set in July 2020 die release. The sign is made using a sentiment from the Jungle Frame stamp set, which is also part of that release.
<br> <br>
If you would like to have me send you this card leave me a comment and tell me about your best-ever birthday surprise. I will pick a random person to send the card to, and will mail it to you (only people in the US are eligiable since I don't want to have to go to the post office during the pandemic to send internationally).

<br> <br>
I made the porthole that is on this card using the porthole die set from the June release the same day that I got my dies, and I set it on my desk for me to use to make a card to share. that was nearly 6 weeks ago. I swear, this porthole nagged at me for most of those weeks, but I just wasnt inspired to use it. I knew I needed to get a card made with it before the end of the release month, and time was ticking!
<br> <br>
I finally sat down with my paper stash and looked for some papers that sort of matched the colors in the porthole, and that had something to do with travel. I came across a 6"x6" piece that had the map and the tickets, and several other travel-themed items. and I came across a piece of black and white paper that had a grungy grid on it. With a little fussy cutting, some ink blending, and a bit of piecing to make my frame, I was able to finally get that porthole off of my desk!
<br> <br>
I think this card has a marvelously masculine feel to it. What do you think? I hope you enjoyed the card!

<div style="color: black; font: 18.0px times; text-align: left;">Shell Greetings</div>by Kathy Berger
<br> <br>
Today I am here to share a small card with big impact. The card only measures 3.5" round, but it packs a lot of wow into that little space! It shimmers and shines pretty much everywhere thanks to some really cool <a href="a">a pearlescent water colors from Yasutomo</a> and some glitter from a Wink of Stella brush pen.
<br> <br>
To make the base for this card I cut three 3.5" scalloped circles out of blue card stock. I diecut the new from one, and then used one of the blue pearlescent colors to add shimmer to it and one more of the scalloped circles. The third scallop circle i scored at 1/4" and 1 3/4", making sure the two scores were parallel. On the first score line I valley folded, and on the second I mountain folded. I then affixed the back scalloped circle with the current lines to the front of the folded circle ONLY in the area from the 1 3/4" fold to the far edge, taking care to line up the scallops. Finally, I glued the back of the folded card to the final scalloped circle ONLY in the area between the 1/4" score and the near edge, taking care to line up the scallops.
<br> <br>
Next I cut two of the new Scallop Shell from white card stock. I watercolored both with the pearlescent paint, making sure that the color was very light and used the colors commonly seen in mother of pearl. While they were both still damp I lightly curled up the edges of each shell to give them dimension, and then I set them aside to finish drying.
<br> <br>
While the shells were drying, I diecut and colored the sea horse from the Sea Creatures Icons die set, each of the Ocean Floor Icons set, both dies in the Seaweed & Anemone die set, and both of the dies in the Stag & Pipe coral die set.
<br> <br>
I adhered one of the scallop shells to the front of the card mechanism, right at the bottom edge of the scalloped circle. I then added some of the diecut and colored elements to the shell and the scalloped circle to decorate both. I added a small sheer white bow to the bottom edge, at an angle.
<br> <br>
I stamped my greeting on the remaining scallop shell, upside down. I then adhered the shell to the inside of the back of the mechanism, also upside down, and about 1/4" from the fold edge. I finished things off with the remaining Ocean Floor Icons, and with a large flat-bottomed pearl. The pearl acts as the stop for this tiny easle card, and isn't it appropriate to have in a shell?
<br> <br>
I hope you liked today's tiny card!

Slimline cards seem to be all the rage these days, and I decided I needed to see what the craze is all about. I think I figured it out! Making these long slender cards allows a lot more of a scene to be captured. It reminds me of when televisions switched from the old 4:3 screen ratio to the newer 16:9 format that is so normal to us now. When I first saw an older movie on a flat-screen TV with that new format I was amazed at how much I had been missing because the old format cut off the picture. It is almost exactly like that with the slimline format.
<br> <br>
At first I felt like the card was too wide to be able to be filled, and then I thought it felt too short to get in enough to create a scene with depth and background, but in the end it felt just right, and like I had more horizontal space to tell my story.
<br> <br>
Will this cardstyle become my goto style? Probably not. But it does feel good to have it in my back pocket when I need it!
<br> <br>
I really loved coloring the new Sea Buddies dies from the June 2020 release and the assortment of sea bottom dwellers and ocean creatures that helped to round-out my story. I hope you will enjoy the card half as much as I enjoyed making it.

There are many dies in the June 2020 die release that I really love. My favorite, though, is the Lighthouse and Sailboats die set I used to make this card. When I drew the dies I had a card like this one in my mind's eye andI couldn't wait to make it!
<br> <br>
To make the card I blended some clouds using Tumbled Glass distress ink and the Scene Builder Stencils (FRA-STN-011). I then masked the cloud area, and using the hilly sidde of the Scene Builder Stencil and Faded Jeans distress ink I created a bit of wavy ocean.
<br> <br>
Next I tore light Kraft cardstock to make 6 layers of sand dune hills. I used copic markers to create shadows behind each layer, and I added some beach grass from the Shoreline Grass die set (FRA-DIE-09880).
<br> <br>
I added the lighthouse to the top of the hills, and two sail boats to the ocean. I also added the pampas grass and beach fence to the card. For some reason, though, The card just seemed unbalanced, and also a bit lifeless. To fix that I decided I needed to add something to the lower left of the card, and adding kids building a sand castle seemed to me the perfect way to fix both problems at once.
<br> <br>
I carefully cut the kids building the sandcastle and the seagull from the Sancastles on the Beach card panel. I colored the kids with Copic markers, and then added them to the lower left of the card. I added teh seagull to the sky.
<br> <br>
Something was still missing, though. The panel I had built was full A2 size, and when added to the card front, it just felt unfinished. I decided what it needed was a frame. I dug out my small strips of craft wood and my miter cutter and in minutes I had built a simple mitered frame. I painted it with a wash of white, then when dry, dry-brushed some gray paint on it. I glued it to the card front. Even though it covers part of the lighthouse and put the seagull right on the edge of the frame, I liked really liked the beachy feel the frame provided.
<br> <br>
This card was not a quick and easy one, to be sure. There were hours of work involved, but every minute of the work was enjoyable and relaxing. After all, isn't being creative what this hobby of ours is all about? I greatly enjoyed making this card, and I hope you have enjoyed seeing it and learning a bit about how I made it.
<br> <br>
Until the next time,
<br> Kathy

Temporary Team Members
</div>
<br> <br>
Due to COVID-19 Frantic Stamper has been unable to ship dies to two of our team members who reside in other countries: Karen Oliver in Mew Zealand and Anita Kerjiwal in India. In order to continue to share samples made with our mew releases we meeded to nrimg some new people onto the design team in a temporary capacity.
<br> <br>
Temporarily replacing Karen is former team member (and assistant leader) Jen Carter. Jen was with the team for several years, and was a key member who provided insight and ideas that helped to shape our product releases. We are thrilled to have her back, even if it is only for a short while!
<br> <br>In order to fill Anita's slot we held a brief design team call. We got applications from dozens and dozens of talented designers, but four applicants really stood out. We were so enamored with the work of all of the four people that we just couldnt decide netween them, so we chose to imvite them all to join us, two at a time on a rotating schedule.
<br> <br>
Please welcome Jen C., Clara Fitts Kubert, Kevin Bray, Michelle Hale, and Kavya NK to the team, for however long we need their help. We look forward to seeing the beautiful things they create for us!
<br> <br>
I will be posting more about the new members over the next couple of weeks.

<br> <br>
Happy Easter!
<br> <br>
I know this Easter is different from the usual celebratory day. We all have had our lives disrupted by this pandemic, and many of us are struggling with the results of our necessary shutdown. I hope in spite of the chaos you are all able to find some peace on this special day.
<br> <br>
So, today I have a sweet vintage lamb from our February release to share with you. I diecut the lamb out of white paper and lightly colored it with Copic cool gray markers, shading the belly and adding soft swirls to mimic the lamb's wool. I added a tiny google eye to the eye hole created by diecutting. I set the lamb aside.
<br> <br>
I inked the gingham background stamp with violet ink and stamped it on white paper. I also used the direct-to-paper technique with the same ink pad to create a strip of plain cardstock, create a rectangle of plain cardstock, and to color the lamb's bow. I stamped my sentiment on white cardstock with the same ink, and diecut it out with an oval die. I diecut a scalloped oval from the rectangle of plain cardstock and layered it under the sentiment oval.
<br> <br>
I cut a lacy scalloped border from white cardstock. I glued the border strip under the edge of the gingham cardstock, and then glued it to my card front and trimmed off the excess. I glued the strip of plain cardstock to the bottom edge of the card. I glued the lamb and the sentiment in place. I finished off the card by gluing the bow onto the lamb.
<br> <br>
I hope you will have a wonderful Easter Day!

<br> <br>
The March 2020 release from Frantic Stamper is all about pets. The Cute Dog in a Bed die set coordinates well with the My Dog's Stuff set, and with the previously released Dog House set. I decided to mix and match from the older and brand new sets to make my card.
<br> <br>
To make my dog card I modified the dog diecuts. I cut two of them out of white paper and colored them identically. From one I carefully cut off the head, and from the other I cut away most of the head, but left enough to allow me to layer the other head over it without any gap. I then die cut a paper spring, trimmed it down to fit behind the head, and affixed it to the back of the head.
<br> <br>
For the base of the card I die cut the largest rectangular frame in the Elementals #13 die set. I set the frame aside while I created the background for the dog. Using the cloud side of the Frantic Stamper Scene Builder Stencil I created a cloudy sky. I die cut a doghouse out of red cardstock, and its roof out of black. I also die cut a grassy hill edger out of green, and cut the hill to the same size as the background by diecutting it with the frame die. Doing this also gave me stitch lines around the bottom and sides of the grass. I glued the grass in place, and added the dog house to the scene, trimming off the excess. I die cut a sun, added it to the upper right corner of the backdrop, and trimmed off the excess. I then affixed the backdrop to my card.
<br> <br>
I glued the dog's body in place on the backdrop, and then glued the spring on the back of the dog's head to the scene, over the dog's body. I added small google eyes to the dog's head.
<br> <br>
I added foam tape to the back of the frame and adhered it to the card, taking care that it perfectly aligned with the backdrop.
<br> <br>
Lastly, I diecut the rope toy from the My Dog's Stuff set, colored it, and attached it to the lower left corner of the frame.
<br> <br>
Here is a brief clip of the head in motion. I hope you will enjoy it!

Isn't the card fun?!

<br> <br>
<br> <br>
This card has a ton of sparkle and shine! I started by diecutting the new Wacky Windows card base out of light blue cardstock and out of craft foam. I diecut several of the Cat Sihouettes from black card stock. I placed the kitties into some of the light blue Wacky Windows, gluing the bottom parts of them behind the panel and the tops to the front of the panel. I then layered the blue panel onto the craft foam panel.
<br> <br>
I layered the completed kitty panel over a rectangle of white glitter card stock, and then that to a navy blue oiece of cardstock whose edges I had colored with a clear Wink Of Stella brush marker.
<br> <br>
I diecut the reverse-cut MEOW from black card stock, and placed it onto a piece of clear packaging tape. I pieced in the center of the "O", and then put a second piece of clear packaging tape on the back. I trimmed the packaging tape to the edges of the rectangle and then glued the sentiment to the card front. I finished the card by adding a small black ribbon bow.
<br> <br>
I am very fond of cats, and so are many of my friends, so the March 2020 pet release from Frantic Stamper is especially fun for me! Be sure to check out all the great cards made by the other design team members on our Facebook Page (link below) and on the team members blogs (links in their names to the right of this post).

<br> <br>
<br> <br>
I wanted to make a special card for a friend who supported me with cards and cheery notes to help me get through some pretty rough times. I wanted to make sure it was a kinetic card of some sort because she had recently mentioned that she was thrilled to get the <a href="https://franticstamper.blogspot.com/2019/12/happy-monkey-day.html">swinging monkey</a> card I had made for her for Monkey Day, the first kinetic card I had sent to her in years of card exchanges. I knew I wanted to make sure I send her more cards that have some kind of fun paper engineering to them.
<br> <br>
I had just received the new <a href="https://www.franticstamper.com/Lawn-Fawn--Die--Magic-Iris-Lawn-Cuts_p_177889.html">Lawn Fawn Magic Iris</a> die (and both of its companion die sets, too) from the <a href="https://www.franticstamper.com">Frantic Stamper</a> store and wanted to give it a try. I decided I would make a cute outerspace card with little aliens saying hello.
<br> <br>
I used water-reactive inks to blend my outerspace backdrop and some water splatter to lift some of the color in order to add some interest. I used some slightly thinned white acrylic paint to splatter some bright spots to further add interest.
<br> <br>
Once the backdrop was dry I diecut it with the Magic Iris Add-On. I made sure to reserve the circle piece that was cut from the center of the backdrop. I next diecut the Magic Iris parts as needed for assembling the mechanism (3 each of the sausage and the rings, 1 each of the rest) from white cardstock, and colored them with the same inks and process as I had with the backdrop, but using only the same color as the center circle of the backdrop that was cut out with the Add-On.
<br> <br>
I assembled the Magic Iris parts, and then affixed them to a card base as shown in this tutorial:
<br> <br>
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/MUP8cPbwwYU" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" id="id_b79d_a56b_3691_f6b8"></iframe>
<br> <br>
And then the real fun began! I stamped, colored, and diecut the four little monsters, the banner, and the signs from the <a href="https://www.franticstamper.com/Frantic-Stamper-Clear-Stamp-Set--Monster-Mash-Up_p_123638.html">Monster Mash Up</a> stamp set using the <a href="https://www.franticstamper.com/Frantic-Stamper-Precision-Die--Monster-Mash-Outlines-works-with-FRA-CL-018_p_123543.html">matching dies</a>. I next stamped, colored, and diecut the moon from the <a href="https://www.franticstamper.com/Frantic-Stamper-Clear-Stamp-Set--The-Final-Frontier-4x8_p_128864.html">The Final Frontier</a> stamp set. I diecut the planet (and colored it), stars, and spiral from the <a href="https://www.franticstamper.com/Frantic-Stamper-Precision-Die--Outer-Space-set-of-7-dies_p_128858.html">Outer Space</a> die set. And lastly, I diecut and colored the <a href="https://www.franticstamper.com/Frantic-Stamper-Precision-Die--Flying-Saucer_p_128857.html">Flying Saucer</a>.
<br> <br>
I glued the circle that I had reserved from the Add-on into place inside the hole in the Magic Iris, and then glued the planet in the center of that. I added a computer-generated "Welcome to my world" sentiment strip to the center. I adhered the moon to the bottom of the Add-on panel, and then glued three of the little monsters (who make perfect aliens, don't you agree?) to the moon's surface. I hand-wrote "hello" and "hi" on the signs and put them in the monster's hands. I glued the fourth monster to the back side of the flying saucer so it looks like he is inside, and then adhered the saucer to the card. Lastly I added some stars and the spiral to the card.
<br> <br>
I hope my friend liked the card, and that you do, too. I had so much fun making it!

This card was fun to create. The leprechaun's beard and clothes are flocked with nail flock to add fun texture. I ran a piece of cardstock through my xyron, then diecut it. I then applied the nail flocking powder to the die cuts, burnishing it and tapping off the excess. The sequins in the pot of gold also add texture, and some bling. I simply glued them in place with some strong liquid glue. The shamrock is diecut and glittered with a clear wink of stella brush pen, and then covered with Glossy Accents. The sentiment is computer-generated.
<br> <br>
I hope you enjoy the card!

<br>
<br> <br>
A pig as a pet? Why not! The family who lived in my home before we bought it had a potbelly pog as a pet because their child was allergic to cats and dogs, and there is a girl whom my daughter follows on Facebook and Instagram who has a cute pig as a pet. So, again, why not!
<br> <br>
This card is a CASE of a card made by another Frantic Stamper Design Team. Her card was in landscape orientation, so I changed it up by turning it to portrait.
<br> <br>
I started by diecutting the largest frame with the Elementals #16 - Stitched Rectangle Frames. I set the frame itself aside, and created a cloudy sky for the backdrop on the center piece left behind when cutting the frame. I diecut two stitched grassy hills and then cut them to size with the frame die. I glued one of the grass hills to the backdrop. I adhered the sun in the upper right corner of the backdrop, and trimmed off the excess. Next, I glued the backdrop centered on my card front.
<br> <br>
I diecut the pig out of two shades of pink. I used the darker pink for the pig's ears and nostrils. I backed the eye area of the pig with white, and added two small black dots to the eyes with a black marker.
<br> <br>
I added the pig's pen to the card, then the pig, and then a second grassy hill. Using foam tape, I added the frame, centering it over the backdrop. For fun and as a departure from the inspiration card, I added tiny purple flower sequins to the grass, and a sheer purple bow to the frame.

<div style="color: black; font: 22.0px times; text-align: left;">Birthday Kitty</div>by Kathy Berger
<br> <br>
<br> <br>
Making this kitty card was really fun. First, I diecut the kitty and My Cat's Stuff from white cardstock and colored them with Copic markers. I set them aside. I diecut the box out of kraft cardstock and set it aside as well.
<br> <br>
I made the backdrop for the card by cutting a piece of yellow patterned cardstock and a piece of dark brown cardstock to form a wall and floor, and glued them to the card. I then cut 1/4" strips of card stock and used them to create a frame around the card. I mitered the corners as I adhered them to the card. I put the cat inside the box, adhered them together, and then glued them to the card. I added the cat's bowl, fishbones, and toy to the bottom of the card.
<br> <br>
I created the tiny gift label for the box with my Brother P-touch label maker and then adhered it in place. I die cut the heart balloon and string and added them to the card. Notice I let the kitty's tail hold the balloon by passing it through the loop in the balloon string. My final touch was to put a bit of glossy accents on the cat's eyes.
<br> <br>
I sent this card to a really dear friend who has Alzheimer's. She likes cute things, and cats are her favorite animal. I hope she enjoyed it!

<br> <br>
<br> <br>
I love the front and back cats and dogs from the March 2020 release! These dies were designed for the matching animals to be pasted together to make a single piece that can be viewed from the front or back. One of the most fun ways I could think of to use these animals was in a suspension card.
<br> <br>
First I cut the front and back dog dies from white card stock and colored each piece with Copic markers. I then cut 3 6" pieces of thin nylon cord and sandwiched one between each oair of dogs, glued together with a strong liquid glue.
<br> <br>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB3Vl8IHpl7vTN1VkPVsFdFIsE92Sez_rMUtYNr8aKaoG29akcXpj-dP9yNW5xNxZFGsmmANUa_UZY_ZTUInASGNVa67xEvThxkgjN2N7Eoq825e0A9E8n-H8NxK8PBVaB3vql/s1600/image0-700946.jpeg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB3Vl8IHpl7vTN1VkPVsFdFIsE92Sez_rMUtYNr8aKaoG29akcXpj-dP9yNW5xNxZFGsmmANUa_UZY_ZTUInASGNVa67xEvThxkgjN2N7Eoq825e0A9E8n-H8NxK8PBVaB3vql/s1600/image0-700946.jpeg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_6799999257193998898" style="width: 320px; height: auto;"></a>
<br> <br>
I used the Tri-panel Card Base die from the January 2020 release to cut holes in my card front, and in a separate panel. I glued those together, adhering the nylon cord between them so the dogs were suspended in the windows. I stamped "WOOF" onto a scrap of white cardstock and added it to a scrap of polka dotted paper, and affixed it to the upper center of the card front.
<br> <br>
On the inside of the card I die cut the Stitched Paw Prints panel. I colored the areas outside of the paw prints light blue to form the sky. I then added some grassy hills that I die cut with the Stitched Grassy Hills Edgers from some green polka dot paper, coloring in random dots to make flowers. Lastly, I adhered a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white card stock to the back of the card to give the card a more finished look.
<br> <br>

<br> <br>
I have a quick and easy card to share with you today. I used the February 2020 release die set <a href="https://www.franticstamper.com/Frantic-Stamper-Precision-Die--Spring-Blossoms_p_176866.html">Spring Blossoms</a> (FRA-DIE-10778) and the January 2020 release's <a href="https://www.franticstamper.com/Frantic-Stamper-Precision-Die--Elementals-21--Tri-Panel-Card-Base_p_175970.html">Tri-Panel Card Base</a> (FRA-DIE-10752) along with an embossing folder to create a fun spring card.
<br> <br>
I cut a 4"x5 1/4" piece of powder blue cardstock, placed it in my embossing folder, and ran it through my die cutting machine. I attached that panel centered on the front of my A2 card. I diecut the Tri-Panel Card Base out of the same powder blue cardstock and out of a piece of white craft foam. I glued the craft foam piece to the Tri-Panel Card Base and then affixed the Tri-Panel Card Base panel centered on the embossed panel of the card front.
<br> <br>
I die-cut the three spring blossoms out of white cardstock and then quickly colored them with Copic markers. I then glued them in place on the card front, one per window of the Tri-Panel Card Base. I added a little sentimemt to the fishtail banner from the TrixPanel Card Base, and then added that to the front of the card.
<br> <br>
I love it when the dies do the bulk of the work for me, and that certainly was the case with this card! I hope you have enjoyed it.

<div style="color: black; font: 22.0px times; text-align: left;">Spring Bouquet</div> by Kathy Berger
<br> <br>
I am fortunate to have a couple of young women (beside my own daughter) who are very special to me. One of these is my daughter's childhood best friend, who turns 29 today. This is the card I made for her birthday.
<br> <br>
I die cut and colored all of the flowers and blossoms from this month's release and the previously released Lovely Leafage. Next, I turned each of them over onto a mouse pad (right side down), lightly spritzed each with water, and shaped each petal and leaf with a ball stylus, adding curved dimension to each. I also pushed some of the cut petals of the lilac forward to add more interest to the bloom's head.
<br> <br>
I cut out the template, assembled it, and decorated the box and uprights. Finally, while taking care that the flowers and foliage wouldn't get in the way of the uprights' movement, I adhered the flowers and bow to the uprights and the Happy Birthday label to the box front.
<br> <br>
I hope she likes the card!

<br> <br>
Last week a dear friend lost her husband after a time in hospice, and I needed to make sympathy cards for her and her adult children with whom I am also close.
<br> <br>
I don't know if you struggle as much as I do to make sympathy cards. Perhaps it is the fact that the reason for making them is always a sad one, but I seldom feel inspired when I need to make them. When I do stumble upon a design that works for me I like to document it so I can keep it in my back pocket for when I need to get one made and my muse is on vacation.
<br> <br>
These cards will be joining my small repertoire of fall-back sympathy designs. It has several features that make it a keeper. It is easy to make, even in a hurry. It can be done in either landscape or portrait orientation. And it can be sent to a man or a woman.
<br> <br>
To make it easier to make more in the future I created a reusable mask for the circle by covering a 4.25"x5.5" piece of text-weight paper with clear contact paper, front and back and punching a 2" diameter circle in it. I then taped the mask onto a piece of white cardstock and used blending brushes to add ink to the circle. I trimmed the piece down, layered it onto another piece of cardstock, and then to the card blank. I stamped my sentiment with the same ink I used to sponge the circle. Next, I added a single piece of die-cut foliage to the circle. Lastly, I glued on a few clusters of sequins in coordinationg colors.
<br> <br>
Each card took less than 15 minutes to make, and still looks fabulous, don't you agree?
<br> <br>
I hope you will give this design a try next time you need one of those hard-to-create cards! I know I will be using this basic layout again and again!
<br> <br>

<br> <br>
Santa Fe New Mexico is one of my favorite places in the world. I love the smell of pinyon smoke on a cold night, the historic buildings on the plaza, and the fabulous food (especially the sopapillas with honey). I think my favorite thing about it, though, is the simple beauty of the adobe buildings with their colorful wooden doors. I have tried to capture that in my card for you today.
<br> <br>
I sponged the front of a kraft card front with a variety of brown inks. I added a strip of slightly different shade of kraft paper on which I had lightly sponged some bricks using the Frantic Stamper <a href="https://www.franticstamper.com/Frantic-Stamper--6x6-Stencil--Old-Brick-Wall_p_158561.html">Old Brick Wall</a> Stencil. Next, I diecut the door from the <a href="https://www.franticstamper.com/Frantic-Stamper-Precision-Die--Front-Door-Fun_p_158554.html">Front Door Fun</a> die set from turqoise card stock. I glued a white panel behind the door so it would show through the opened door. I stamped "aloe you" and "vera much" from the <a href="https://www.franticstamper.com/Frantic-Stamper-Clear-Stamp-Set--Stuck-On-You_p_175981.html">Stuck on You</a> stamp set on the white panel, and then affixed the door to the card front. I diecut all of the Cacti and pots in the new <a href="https://www.franticstamper.com/Frantic-Stamper-Precision-Die--Potted-Cacti_p_175979.html">Potted Cacti</a> die set from white cardstock and colored them with Copic markers, and then affixed them to the card front. I created a door mat by gluing some jute twine to a small cardstock oval. Lastly, I added a Dream Catcher charm I have had in my stash forever to the card with a bit of clear adhesive.
