    • Tear around the entire image.
    • Using your craft mat and blending tool, blend wild honey distress ink around the edges.
    • Add Rusty Hinge to the corners using blending tool.

  • Make your Alice Collage:
    • Select an image that is about 3"x4" from Curiouser paper (I chose Alice but there are many wonderful images on this paper.)
    • Select some other images only cut these out into smaller squares (doesn’t have to be exact).
I chose some colorful victorian Halloween images of a pumkin and a moon.
    • Use the decoupage glue (or other collage glue such as mod podge, golden medium) and a foam brush (you can get the brush for a dollar usually at a Michaels)
    • Brush some glue onto your manila cardstock and adhere your first piece.
Keep brushing glue and adhering until all pieces are glued on. Be sure to glue Alice (or your focal image) on last.

    • Take a clock stamp and stamp randomly with black ink on your collage.
    • Take a cotton swab and dab it into versamark ink.
Touch lightly on areas you want to accent in gold. (Or use a Versamark pen; Frantic Stamper carries it.)
    • Use gold embossing powder on the areas you dabbed with Versamark ink.
      Emboss with a heat gun
    • Cut out a piece from your collage 3 7/8" x 1 1/2".
    • Attach your cut piece to the black cardstock and trim a 1/8" inch border around it.
  • Finish up:
    • Cut a 5 ¼ x 4 piece of the striped side of Uncommon Nonsense paper(stripes should be horizontal).
    • Punch three photo corners from the blue side.
    • Punch the upper left corner with the spider web punch in the striped piece.
    • Adhere your photo corners to the other three corners of the striped paper.
    • Tie a bow using black satin ribbon. Make sure to leave tails long enough to go around your card.
    • Temporarily position Alice and the Hallowe’en block on your paper so you can correctlyplace your ribbon bow.
    • Adhere the ribbon to the card with double-stick tape, and adhere the ends of ribbon to the back of the paper.
    • Add double stick tape to Alice Collage and adhere to the card so it overlaps the ribbon.
    • Use mounting tape to adhere the Hallowe’en block so it slightly overlaps the collage.
Sign the back of your card because this is a work of art!

Skull Album

by Sharon Jeffs

Instructions

  • Cover each of the interior surfaces of the album with a paper.
I chose to cover mine with ordinary white copy paper as I want to give my album a spray with Glimmer Mist and the white paper will soak it up best.

  • Edge all the edges with a layer of the eggshell paint.
    Set aside to dry completely.

  • Paint the front and back of the album with the Eggshell paint.
You will need two coats to ensure even coverage.

  • Using a dry brush technique (dab paint onto the brush then rub 90% off onto scrap paper), edge the skull with cool gray then repeat with black.
A trick I like to use when doing this is to have a baby wipe with me and as I finish dry brushing the project, I dab it with the wet one.
I then smudge over with the paint brush to smoothen the dry brushing effect.
Repeat for both top and bottom of album.

  • Paint the cross bones black.
Dry brush the edges with Cool gray and put aside to dry thoroughly.

  • Paint entire surface of the skull (both top and bottom of album) with the Rock Candy Crackle paint and put aside to dry thoroughly.
Once dry coat with glaze medium or another type of sealer of your preference.
Spray each of the papered surfaces with the Glimmer mist, spraying from the edge with the binding holes across.

  • Cut the Polka dot ribbon into three sections and one to each ring in a bow.
Cut the looped trim into six sections and two onto the ring, one on either side of the bow.

  • Peel back the centre of one of the Prima flowers and punch a hole through the centre of the flower.
Adhere the flower over the top hole of the album, aligning the hole in the centre of the flower with the hole in the cover.

  • Join all the album pieces together with the three hinged rings.

  • Stamps
    • Doily Style Stamp
    • “Congratulations” or Other Sentiment stamp of choice
  • Inks and Embossing Powders
    • ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink, Chestnut Roan     ( CLE-FCP-Chestn   $5.59)

    • Pearls, white     ( KAI-PRL-713   $1.99)
    • Maya Arts 5/8" Wide Organza Ribbon, about 18" of each
  • Tools
  • Adhesives

Instructions

  • Cut brown cardstock to make a 5”x 6.5” card base. Set aside.

  • Take a piece of Basic Grey Cappella Sonata paper and cut it an inch or so larger than you want your finished card front to be (approx. 6” x 8”).

  • Stamp the doily images in two corners of your cut patterned paper using VersaMark ink.
Sprinkle with Ranger seafoam embossing powder.
    Emboss with your heat gun.

  • At the corners, stipple chestnut roan chalk ink over the embossed doily images.
Work the ink into the paper between the embossed sections.
Wipe the excess chalk ink off of the embossed images with a soft towel.
The embossed images will retain some of the chestnut roan color.
Softly blend out your stippling from the edges of the doily images.

  • Determine the exact size you want your layer to be. Mine is 4.5” x 6”.
Trim embossed piece to this size, picking out the best looking portion of your stamped paper.
Softly stipple the edges and other two corners of the cut piece.

  • Attach to blue layer of cardstock and trim, leaving only 1/16th of an inch showing.

  • Wrap organza ribbons around card in an asymmetrical manner.
I used one blue and 2 champagne pieces.
Using the remaining blue ribbon, add a couple of “loops” to the right side of where the flower will be attached.

  • Attach this to the front of brown card base.

  • Attach your Prima Madrigal flower. Add various sized pearls in a scattered fashion.

  • Using chestnut roan Fluid Chalk ink, stamp “congratulations” on a scrap of Cappella Sonata paper (reverse side is blue).
Attach to front of card just under the edge of the flower using 3D foam squares.

  • Add an extra finishing touch by lining the inside of the card with a scrap piece of the Cappella Sonata paper (reverse side) and a scrap strip of embossed patterned paper that was trimmed away earlier.

    • A sewing machine and green and blue thread
  • Adhesives

Instructions

As I'm going on a lastminute trip to Tenerife, I had to quickly make myself a Road Book to document my holidays... So here's how I made this very simple one:
  • I first cut two rectangles (about 6 x 8,5 '') in a heavy cardstock for the covers...

  • I painted the borders with light green acrylic paint from Kaisercraft, than I decorated them with beautiful SEI papers that I stitched together and some Basic Grey die cuts.
The title is made with American Crafts Thickers.

  • I love the SEI papers, with their glitter dimension:

  • The inner covers are also covered with cute papers.
I didn't add any decoration in the inside, because I didn't want the book to be too thick, and as I'll be carrying it with me, I'd rather not have embellies not adhering.

  • For the insides pages I decided to separate the journal pages,

    the cards,

    and the guide (suggestions)...

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my project!

Have a lovely day,

  • Embellishments
  • Adhesives

Instructions

  • My Post-it notes measure 3 4/10 inches by 3 4/10 inches by 4/10 inches.
To create the base sides and top I am going to measure out chipboard pieces at the following sizes –
    • Base and Top – 4 inches by 4 inches
    • Sides – ½ inch by 3 ½ inches (cut 4 of these)

  • Cover the top and base pieces on both sides with the Basic Grey Patterned paper then ink the edges with the Coffee Bean inkpad.

  • Cut a ½ inch by 12 inch strip of patterned paper and use to cover and connect up the four sides.
Don’t worry about not having enough left to cover all of the fourth side as this will be covered later.

  • Cut a 1 inch by 12 inch strip of patterned paper and adhere to the inside of the sides.

  • Notch each of the corners of the overlapping patterned paper and fold in.

  • Adhere to the base and ink the top edges.

  • Cut two strips of patterned paper measuring 1 inch by 3 1/3 inches.
These will be the hinges of the box lid.
Begin by adhering the first one to the outside side edge that wasn’t completely covered.

  • Fold this strip backwards and centre top onto the box.
Adhere strip to top of box to create the first half of the hinge.
Repeat on the inside of the box to reinforce the hinge.

  • Adhere ribbon around sides and tie in a bow at the front.

  • Trim off pieces of the Felt stem to add around the flower and adhere to the centre of the top of the box along with the felt stem pieces radiating from the flower.

Thanks for coming by.
