Skull Candy Jar
by Rozy

This is a quick and easy project, perfect for today!

Purchase a glass jar from the Dollar store.

Cut out 4 medium skulls & 8 small skulls using black vinyl.

Cut out 2 large skulls from black vinyl & one from heavy weight white cardstock.

Fill jar with Candy Corn.

Place skulls around jar, one medium in the middle and two on either side. Apply glittered gumdrops to the eyes of the medium skulls, alternating green and gold gumdrops.

Use large skull and place black vinyl on either side of the white card-stock (The card-stock is for support.) Adhere, with a hot glue gun, large rhinestone eyes and some flourishes.

Place netting on top and glue in place anchoring the Large Skull; use Prima flower parts to make flowers and place on the lid; use colors of your choice.

Make a ribbon bow for around the jar.

Make "Boo Tag" from Flag Trio Die Set using orange, yellow and black cardstock. Apply mini lettering for Boo....

Place some white ghosts in selected places.

Voila! Your Skull Candy Jar is ready for the party.

Moment to Shine (Rozy Smith)

Moment to Shine
by Rozy

Use an 11 1/2" x 8 1/2" chalkboard base, chalkboard papers of your choice and Frantic Stamper Film Strip Die.

Use the cutouts to trace on your picture, cut out to fit the openings in the film strip.

Frame your picture. Use Washi Tape to cover the chalkboard frame.

Not all scrapbook layouts are on paper. When a special moment arrives use your imagination!

The focal point of this arrangement was to capture the "Black Belt" happening moment.

Be sure to check out Frantic Stampers large selection of Chalkboard items! This is really the craze right now.

Coloring Cats (Kathy Berger)

Coloring Cats
by Kathy Berger

I love cats, and for some reason they seem to love me, too. My daughter calls me the Cat Whisperer because of my way with them. So when Fran asked me to draw some small cats for her die line, I was beyond thrilled!

When I got my "Ten Fun Felines" die set from Frantic Stamper I couldn't wait to cut with them! I grabbed a piece of my favorite layering weight white card-stock and ran them through my ebosser. And I fell instantly in love. The cats looked wonderful in plain white card-stock.

But I was really curious how they would look if colored. So I dug out my Copic Ciao markers and set out to see. The first one I tackled was my frazzled black cat who really looks black in this photo, but was actually colored with C07, BV29 and B99.

Next I colored one cat a light yellow/tan to resemble my kitty Pudge (E11, E31, Y00, Y11, Y02), and another black (this time I really used black- 100) and white (actually C0) to match my tuxedo cat, Muphin. And then I just kept coloring, matching cats I have had in my life (for the rest of the cats I used E00, E31, E35, E37, Y02, Y06, C0, C2, C3, C5, W0,W1,W2,W3, and W5 in various combinations).

I think these cats have some pretty serious "purr"-sonality. What do you think? I can't wait to use them on a project, and I can't wait to color some more!

I hope you will give coloring some tiny Fun Feline die cuts with Copic Markers a try, too.

Autumn Splendor (Lis Whiting)

Autumn Splendor
by Lis Whiting

Hi everyone!  Today I want to share a card using Frantic Stamper's new Die Release, the Mix 'n Match Leaf Windows.    I started out with a rich brown card base (4 1/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches).  I embossed some suede paper in rust using a leaf design. Then  I layered gold glossy card stock and then the rust suede paper on top.  I used specialty card stock (mocha ripple and red fireworks - both AMAZING) and die cut one set each of the three leaf windows.  I made sure that each die was at least 1/2 inch from the next one because I planned to cut each out into a square.  To cut out the leaf windows, I used a square punch. This helped me keep a consistent border size.
I added an olive green ribbon and then placed the mocha squares on it.  I intertwined the three squares.  Then I cut out the leaves from the red fireworks squares and layered them on top of the mocha leaves with foam tape.  I added beige pearls to finish.

Thanks for stopping by!
Lis

Funny Face Scrapbooking Page (Sharon Jeffs)

Funny Face Scrapbooking Page
by Sharon Jeffs

My youngest daughter loves to make strange faces and pose for a camera.  She has tonnes of photos of herself already after having her new iphone for barely a month!

For my page, I cut lots of the elements from the 'Notes' patterned paper, these I wanted to use to add features to my page without adding lots of lumpy and often expensive embellishments.

For the side trim, I cut two 2 inch strips from one of the patterned papers and then folded it accordion style and stapled the folds to create a kind of ombre embellishment!

Flutterby Friends (Rozy Smith)

Flutterby Friends
by Rozy Smith

Card base 6" x 5", layered with Prima Art Journal Pad paper of choice.

Adhere Washi Tape around the borders to look like picture frame, using a Silhouette Machine layer a smaller gatefold card for the third layer.

Inside sentiment is framed using Sizzix Marvelous Squares Die.

Cut out three layers of wings and one body using the Moveable Flutterby Die. The center layer is a matching vellum that will co-ordinate with the paper chosen. This die is awesome, butterfly lovers unite! Adhere the wings and body with brads, "move" into desired positions!

At this point, fly and be free, let creativity flow!

Mad Scientist Card (Sharon Jeffs)

Mad Scientist Card
by Sharon Jeffs

I recently pulled out all my Distress paints, determined to play with them after a lengthy hiatus from them.  I decided to play with mixing metallic paints in the same way I'd normally mix metallic mixatives with alcohol inks.  The background of the main piece of my card is the result of this play!

For My Superhero (Kathy Berger)

For My Superhero
by Kathy Berger

My older brother Bob is a superhero. When my eldest brother, who had been taking care of Mom, passed away unexpectedly in June, Bob stepped in. Not only did he take care of Ron's estate issues and cleaned out his belongings, he and his wife volunteered to move in to take care of Mom. It wasn't going to be easy, though.

Since June Bob almost single-handedly remodeled the lower floor of Mom's house to turn it into an apartment for him and his wife. He jack-hammered out the concrete floor of the half-bath to put in a shower and laundry. He turned an unfinished room that had been the laundry/furnace room into a lovely little kitchen. He moved a room entrance, added an exit for safety, tiled floors, patched and painted walls and ceilings. He even found time to do a little work to the outside of the house to make it more functional for him, and for mom.

And he did all of this AFTER his regular 40+ hour work-weeks.

He and his wife moved in last week, and this is a card I made to send to him, as a thank-you, and as a house-warming.

I honestly don't know what Mom would have done without him. He is our very own Superhero.

Here is the inside of the card, with a little envelope I made that is just the right size to hold a gift card.
