Happy Father's Day

by Kathy Berger

Today would not normally be a day on which I post, but with Father's Day rapidly approaching, I thought you might like to see this quick and easy card for Dad. In my family, Father's Day meant a new shirt and tie for Dad and here they are:

Happy Father's Day

    • Black pen
  • Adhesives

    • Glue Dots, Mini Size -300 dots, 3/16" dia     ( GLUE-Mini   $3.99)

Instructions

  • Stamp the "Dad" and the "Celebrate Your Day" from the For Him set using Versafine Onyx Black ink on the 3" x 2 1/2" rectangle of white card stock.
Corner round the edges using the the corner chompers.
    Set aside.

  • With the card in landscape orientation on the Scor-Pal, score at the two grooves marked with a small dot.
These are at 2 1/8” and 6 3/8” from the left fence of the Scor-Pal, and will prepare the card for a gate fold.

Fold on the score lines to make a gate fold card.
Fold a small portion of the top of the card front away from the center opening at an angle to form a collar.
Fold the right side only at the bottom of the card.
Stamp the "Happy Father's Day" from the Thanks Dad set on the lower left side of the card front.

  • Stamp the tie from the For Him set diagonally on the scrap of striped card.
Cut out the tie and attach at an angle to the left side of the card front, right below the collar.

  • Use glue dots to attach small buttons to the card front.

  • Corner round the bottom two corners of the one inch square of white card stock.
Add the tiny strip of white card stock across the top of the square.
Hand draw some stitches to make a pocket.
Glue in place on the card front to make a shirt pocket.

  • Use foam dots to attach the Celebrate panel to the inside of the card, making sure it is placed low enough that it won't show when the card is closed.

I hope you will have a special Father's Day with the important father in your life. Looking forward to sharing with you again soon!
