Hoppy Easter Card Set (Rozy Smith)

"Hoppy Easter Card Set"
by Rozy

Start with colored card base, apply Sunburst Panel cut from Pow Silver Glitter Paper.

Prepare all cut-outs first, makes it so much easier. Cut out four eggs, using both sets of Easter Egg Dies & four different shades of foil paper. Save all parts that fall out of the eggs, place "like" items in sandwich bags.

Cut out rabbit & detail, using a cotton ball for the tail. Cut out grass, do all the shading. Cut out carrots, some in orange and some in green, cut green tops off and apply to orange carrots and distress.  Cut out chicks, detail as desired.

At this point work on eggs. Using a base colored egg, pick out pieces of another color and inlay them for desired effect.

Remember there is no right or wrong, it is all about having fun. These dies are so fun!

The Sunburst Panel is very versatile, be sure to give it a try.

On the Wings of a Dragonfly (Jennifer Willis)

On the Wings of a Dragonfly
by Jennifer Willis

I love how On the Wings of a Dragonfly is an image surrounded by more images. It pulls the eye around the frame making it worth a second and even third look, as you take in all the details. It was a great deal of fun to color, too!

Splattered Valentine Card in Ten (Kathy Berger)

Splattered Valentine Card in Ten
by Kathy Berger

I saw a card on Pinterest with an ink splattered background and a speech bubble that said "hello". For some reason the card really drew my attention. It just seemed fresh and young and full of fun.

I decided I had to make a similar card for my 22 year-old daughter for Valentine's Day. I have a tradition of making her multiple Valentines for her to open throughout the day...started when she started kindergarten. I plan to continue the tradition until she is out of school (she is in graduate school now, working on her Masters...but talking about a PhD, so the tradition may continue for a while!)

To make the card I got out a little bit of reinker and water and a paint brush. I wet the brush well with water, picked up a bit of color from the reinker, and splashed the watery ink onto a layer of card-stock by hitting the brush against my left hand with my right. I did the pink first, and then the red.

Next I simply die-cut some hearts and stuck them onto the splashed layer with different thicknesses of dimensional adhesives, and added my die-cut cartoon speech bubble )I went around the edges of the bubble with a marker, and did the same with the splashed layer before adhering it to my card).

I hope you've enjoyed my Splattered Valentine!

Beaded Butterfly Card (Sharon Jeffs)

Beaded Butterfly Card
by Sharon Jeffs

I like to try out different things.  When I first saw this Glitter tape I wondered what it would be like to weave, like we did as children!  My initial test was only a small piece which I loved and didn't want to waste so I used it on my card here as a decorative element!

Flutterby Manequin Tag (Sharon Jeffs)

Flutterby Manequin Tag
by Sharon Jeffs

I think I've said before that I've never really made a lot of tags, that was until I heard a well known artist explain how she uses tags as a place to experiment with new techniques and ideas!  Since then, Ive come around to this idea and this tag was created as a result of that.

To create the background of my tag I began by die cutting it from a piece of Watercolor paper then completely wetting it with a spritzer.  Once wet, I daubed the Distress stain in the centre and held the tag up to allow the water to mix and blend the stains.  Once dry, I stamped the text sections of the Chat Noir stamp in sections of the tags.

The butterfly wings were die cut from mouldable plastic sheets that I coated with Frosted film then heated and moulded to the way I wanted them to sit before attaching them to a mannequin and then my tag!
