Welcome to the newest feature by the FranticStamper Design Team! We call this feature Card, in 10. In it, we will feature a card we created in 10 (or fewer) minutes. These cards will mostly be Clean and Simple cards, and will use a minimum of embellishment and very few layers.

The first card in the series is one made by Kathy Berger, our Design Team Leader. Kathy's card is shamelessly CASED from a card from A.J. Otto's blog TheWillowGarden.blogspot.com. When she saw A.J's card, Kathy immediately thought of the Dotty Daisy clear stamp set by Stampendous, and knew she just had to use that set to make her own version of the card. She used Memento inks in six colors (Lady Bug, Tangelo, Dandelion, Pear Tart, Bahama Blue, Grape Jelly) with the large flower from the set on a piece of white card-stock, and then added the "hello" saying from the same set, stamped in the Grape Jelly ink. She mounted that piece of card-stock onto an orange note card blank (a little smaller than a "standard" A4 card.)

Kathy pumped up her card with some Studio 112 clear gems in the centers of each of the flowers, and in the center of the "o" in "hello".



We hope you enjoyed this card and will enjoy this new feature. We hope to share a quick card, a "Card, in 10" twice a month to start, and perhaps more often if we can.

When using a Silhouette stamp I'm always searching for ideas and ways to add colour.  Thats why when I saw this idea on Pinterest, I wanted to have a go in my own way!

To create the background I used a piece of normal white card stock, 3 different coloured Distress markers and an acrylic block.  I began by scribbling colour onto the acrylic block in sections then I spritzed it with water, allowing the colours to blend slightly before pressing the card into the inky puddle.  Once lifted off, the colours slowly soak into the card leaving this very cool water-colour effect to stamp over.

For mine, I chose a Frantic Stamper stamp called Couple eating.

I was so excited by the final product that I chose to make it into a card immediately:

Bon Voyage (Kathy Berger)

This card uses the Copic-colored Aviatrix image we shared on the blog yesterday to create a fun and festive Bon Voyage card. My daughter is heading back to France for her spring break, and this card will hold a little something to help out on her trip (in Euros.)

To create the card, I mounted part of a sheet of paper by Kaisercraft, from the 6 1/2"x6 1/2" Secret Admirer paper pad onto a 6" x 6" white card base. I used the We R Memory Keepers Deco Corner Chompers to punch the corners of my image (and the black card-stock it is mounted to) and then mounted it to the card.

Next, I used a My Favorite Things Cloud-Trio die to cut three clouds from felt (the metal adapter plate from Cheery Lynn made that possible) and then mounted the clouds onto the card.

I die cut the My Favorite Things picket fence from a scrap of white card-stock, and mounted it onto the card, using foam tape. I then mounted the die-cut My Favorite Things Eiffel Tower with foam dots.

I stamped the FranticStamper Bon Voyage saying onto white card-stock and trimmed to form a banner. I mounted that onto black card-stock and trimmed it. I wrapped the banner around a dowel to curl it, and then mounted it onto the card. Lastly, using foam dots, I mounted the flags banner, cut from a different sheet of paper from the Secret Admirer paper pad with the Joy Crafts Garland Flags Swag die.

Aviatrix Coloring Project (Kathy Berger)

Today I am coloring the Erté Aviatrix image from FranticStamper's own line of cling-mounted rubber stamps. I stamped the image onto Bazzill Classic - Smooth white card-stock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then put the image onto a piece of white scrap paper and colored away with my Copic Ciao Markers (see the Products Used section for information on which markers were used on which parts of the image.)

When I was done coloring the head-scarf and the coat I used a piece of terry cloth and some of the colorless blender to add texture to them. I wet a small part of the terry cloth with the blender and daubed the image until I achieved the texture I was trying for.

When I was done coloring the gold accents on the image, I colored over them with a Copic Spica pen to add a subtle glittery glitz. I also accented the scarf with the same pen.

I recently ordered one of the Dylusions Art Journals in an effort to see if using a different medium would create a more even effect when using the Dylusions sprays - and I was right!  There was no unexpected bleeding, especially when using a stencil and even using paint seemed to be a great outcome on the pages of this book!

I used a stencil and Dylusions sprays to create my background then painted in the black border before adding white dotted edges with a paint marker.  I also added paint dots (using the super awesome new Distress paints) and dressed them up with paint markers to kind of look like different cogs.

The pilot is a stamp from the Frantic Stamper line of stamps which I stamped and colored on old book paper.  This stamp kind of brought up memories of that old mystery that surrounds the disappearance of Amelia Earhart and so I decided to add a quote from her to finish my page.

Parfumerie (Lis Whiting)

Hello everyone!

Today I would like to share a card with you using Aladine's, Perfume Maxi 12" Border Stamp. I purchased this stamp a while ago and have been waiting for the right inspiration! Today was it! I love this stamp with its perfume bottles. It takes me back to Victorian times and to France (though I have only been there in my imagination!)



I used Archival Black ink to stamp my image onto ivory card-stock. I used Distress ink pens to color my stamped image. I cut the title image out and used gold photo corners to mount it. I cut out the bottles and attached them to my card with mounting tape.

The row of Pears stamp from the Frantic Stamper line of stamps is such a versatile stamp to use.  I can imagine all sorts of ways to use this stamp, including stamping onto book paper and cutting them out!

I chose to stamp mine then color them in with quick brush strokes of colour using a wide waterbrush that filled sections completely and created an effective shading.

I chose to finish my card with a simple but effective line border and a decorative paper clip (here's a set similar to the one I used).

I bought a lot of Flower Soft once and then seemed to forget about it until I saw this stamp and thought it would be perfect to use!

I began my image by first inking my white cardstock using water and a mixture of a blue and brown colored Dylusions ink spray.  Once the card was completely dry, I stamped a wishing well onto the centre of this colored card.

To add some detail to the stamped image, I filled in sections with color using Distress markers and a water brush to blend the colouring.

Finally, I added Flower Soft along the right side of the image using Glossy Accents.  I found that if I did one color at a time and in sections then I could intermix the colours in a more controlled way.
