In keeping with our new tradition of posting holiday/Christmas cards on the 25th of each month we would like to share a card today. This card is in USA's patriotic colors of red, white, and blue; these are well suited for today's celebration of Memorial Day, a time we commemorate the ultimate sacrifice made by Patriots throughout our history, in wars foreign and domestic. We honor our war dead who gave all for our country every day, but especially today. We wish you all a special day today.
Red, White and Blue Happy Holidays
by Ann GreenspanRed, white and blue aren't just for Fourth of July or Memorial Day cards..............it seems to be getting popular to use these colors on winter/holiday cards recently.
The background paper with the birch trees and cardinals is from my stash of old papers I recently came across, but I could have easily used birch tree and cardinal dies to make this card.
I used one of the Frantic Stamper Scallop Borders dies to cut the edge of the card. This die cuts through both card layers at once and leaves a stitched and embossed edge as well. I used the middle of the three dies shown here:
I also used the Frantic Stamper Happy Holidays die for the front of the card. This die cuts both words connected together so there is no trouble getting it straight when adhering it to your card. Once the card front was assembled, I attached some rhinestones around the snowflake and added white gel pen to the bottom snowflake.
