How I Do Inlay (Kathy Berger)

Ann and Jen have shared their way of doing inlay using two different dies in the Frantic Stamper line, Woven Ribbons Card Panel and Sun Rays Quilted Card Panel. I am going to share my method using a more intricate die, the Bubble Card Panel.

I hope you will enjoy this video that shows the steps I take when doing this kind of project. I find it to be especially helpful because I don't have to search for a particular piece to inlay; it is in the correct place on each color's cut sheet, and I don't have a lot of "confetti" particles running loose on my table.

Without further ado, here is my method of doing inlay...

And here are a couple of last looks at the card.

  1. Kathy, great video! Very similar to my inlay procedure. Thanks for the tip on the Press & Seal, I'm going to give that a try! Rozy

Ohhh Myyyy Goodnessss....I love Press N Seal, but never would have thought to use it for this process. In my craft room, I keep a roll of wax paper, parchment paper, foil and a box of dryer sheets...now I must add a roll of Press N Seal to my supplies...wonderful idea. Will give this a try today. Great idea with the post it tape...I do already have that, too. Thanks so much for such a wonderful and helpful video...sometimes if the process is too difficult and tedious, even though the finished product is beautiful, I will shy away from doing it. This will cut off much time. TFS Jan D., FL

    1. Kia, you would be surprised at how quickly this process goes using this method! And it is kind of relaxing, in a "zen" kind of way, kind of like drawing Zentangles or coloring in detailed coloring books. The first few pieces are a bit tricky but once adjusted to the mirror-image thing, it gets a lot easier. The Press 'N Seal does make it simpler since the pieces are held in place.
